The Real Deal About 3rd Grade by Leslie McGuire

Everybody in third-grade things she's weird!  Maybe it's because she doesn't exactly tell the truth all the time.  First of all, her name really isn't Babette - it's plain old Jane.  Her mother isn't a famous movie star, and her father never shot elephants in the jungle either.  Ms. Sims, Babette's teacher things of a plan to help Babette tell the truth.  It won't be easy, but Babette knows she has to try.   If she doesn't stop lying soon, she'll be the lonliest kid in Southside Elementary.
