The gloves come off when criticizing formal organized religion, liberal-leaning leaders, and the idiots who slow you down because they drive in the left lane while cruising on the highways. No mercy is spared in the author's criticism of how life looks from the view of a small-town Baptist growing up in rural Tennessee.

Through his eyes, you learn how someone tries to turn their "normal" into your normal. It is a politically conservative read with a skeptical religious response to his upbringing, but it is not a memoir. He revels in bashing televangelists who steal money from the masses and he delivers harsh criticism of those selling religion door to door. The author uses the harmonies in the message to be as loud as the lead vocal in an unvarnished and sometimes sarcastic disdain for going along to get along.

This book should make you think differently about what you thought you knew while making you laugh and cringe at the same time. He raises and answers many questions throughout the narrative, but leaves the reader to answer those remaining. The author is void of filter but uses a healthy dose of censorship to keep it clean and readable, without being offensive. He grew up learning not to talk about politics and religion at the dinner table, but that is exactly what he does with every stroke of the pen. It is a worthy read if you are not afraid to walk outside the box of the topics you were told to avoid in polite company.
