A Hint of Poetry by Clarence Plank

Nominated for the 2024 Indie Book of the Year. A Hint of Poetry hints to something more written between the lines of a poem when a poet scribbles words upon a page. It’s something magical for a reader and author as they connect somewhere in between the static of everyday life. There are so many distractions in everyone’s life these days, and finding moments away from the chaos to read, and get lost in something else, is rare.
For a poet like me there are so many reasons I can tell you why I created a certain poem, but you as the reader who finds a different connection to my words. Not all poems as the same even though they can from the same pen pressed upon a blank page. My journey as a poet has been one of excitement, regret, and wonder. I am grateful for the opportunities that poetry has created for me over the years since I started publishing my poems. As a writer, I am in awe of the people who read and enjoy my poetry because I didn’t imagine so many people would enjoy my words, let alone my thoughts on certain subjects. Yes, I can be long winded at times due it being a subject I am passionately touching upon with you as my reader.
Love is the strongest, and possibly the most destructive force on earth when it comes to someone’s understanding of this emotion.
